High Risk Work Licencing SA:
Do you need to convert your licence?
|
|
As of 1 September 2010 in South Australia, the National Standard for Licencing Person Performing High Risk Work 2006 (the Standard) has meant that people who hold existing Certificates of Competency or 'tickets' to perform high risk work and others are required to convert these to a nationally recognised licence which is valid across Australia.
To obtain a nationally recognised licence for the first time or to add a new class to your licence, you must be trained and assessed as competent by a SafeWork SA Registered Assessor. If you have current certificates or 'tickets', they remain valid but they must be converted to the new national licence before the expiry date listed on the SafeWork SA website, as based on the issue date of your oldest ticket.
Tickets issued before 3 April 1995 will expire on 1 September 2011, so if that means you, then it's important to convert your certificates to the national licence as soon as possible so as not to be left with expired High Risk Work certificates and preventing you from working in these areas.
To start the conversion process or for further information,
visit www.safework.sa.gov.au or call 1300 975 909.
